Well, after all that fun in London in 2010, I vowed never to run a marathon to raise charity funds again – when I realised after the 2011 ballot just how big an industry “marathon charity places” is. over half of the London entry goes to “approved” charities and “sponsors guests” – that’s minor celebs to you and me – making the ballot harder to get into than Thames House.
Anyway, that was obviously all talk. September 2013 will see me on the start line in Berlin, running for a charity on a guaranteed place (hypocrite, moi?). The charity is Shelter, Fujitsu’s approved charity and a damn good cause, raising much needed funds to help the homeless. I will be running with three colleagues and attempting to raise a total of £4000 between us.
